Fraunhofer IMS
For over 30 years, scientists at the Fraunhofer IMS in Duisburg have been working on the development of microelectronic circuits, electronic systems, microsystems and sensors. Thanks to its extensive expertise, access to technology and high-quality development services, the institute is a globally recognized partner for industry.
The Fraunhofer IMS is dedicated to applied research, pre-development for products and their applications in four business areas. For example, high-precision sensors such as two sensor ASIC series for capacitive and inductive sensor readout, CMOS photodetectors and image sensors have been developed. The IMS is currently concentrating on single photon detectors for quantum imaging with entangled photons (ghost imaging) and on silicon photomultiplier detectors (SiPM) for use in nuclear medicine imaging procedures, for example in the Fraunhofer QUILT lead project.
